I had been a director of my father’s company for more than one year, but he decided to promote me downstairs to an ordinary part-timer. There are a few reasons for his decision;
Firstly, I was diagnosed with depression after I was appointed as a director. And I need to take some rest. Secondly, my second son has been showing some developmental disorder, and I have to take him to hospital periodically. Furthermore, he bites his friends at the after-school childcare, and my husband’s younger brother is very angry because my second son often bites his daughter. So I cannot leave him there for the time being. Because of the problems, I cannot work hard and long enough to keep up my father’s expectation as a director.
I think the responsibility I was expected to fulfill in the position was too heavy for me form the beginning anyway. I wonder why he appointed me such a position first of all. Did he expect me to be the subsequent boss? When I was hesitating to be appointed as a director, he even threatened I would have to let others decide what our company would become of when he becomes unable to work. I had no choice but to accept the position. I never said I wanted the position.
I hope my life will improve, though my wage will decrease. Health and parenting are the most precious things for me.
